Please join us on Saturday September 26th at 10:30am for this month's free seminar, "Estate Planning with Your Pets in Mind."  Erica Johnson, Attorney JD from the University of Denver School of Law and Associate with Ambler & Keenan, LLC will be presenting.

In this seminar, you will learn:

  • The difference between a will and a trust.
  • Estate planning principles.
  • The importance of having a Power of Attorney and a Living Will.
  • Who has the right to care for your children.
  • How to include your pets in your estate.

August Seminar: Your Cat's Golden Years

Please join us on Saturday, August 22nd, from 10:30am to 12pm for our free August seminar, "Your Cat's Golden Years."  The seminar will be presented by Christine Stanton, District Manager of Chuck & Don's Pet Food & Supplies, and the class is designed to help you prepare for and meet the needs of your senior cat.

Topics covered in this seminar will include:

  • Nutritional needs.
  • Exercise.
  • Hearing and vision changes.
  • Dental care.
  • Pet insurance.
  • Play.
  • Litter box issues.

Make Your Own Cat Scratching Post Guide

A couple of weeks ago, Cat Care Society Volunteer, Jacqueline Kimble, gave a seminar on how to make your own scratching post.  If you missed the seminar, you can still learn how to make your own cat scratching post by viewing the step-by-step guide HERE.  

June Seminar: Cat Scratch Fever

On Saturday June 27th, Cat Care Society will be hosting the seminar, "Cat Scratch Fever: Learn How to Build a Cat Scratching Post."  The seminar takes place from 10:30AM to 12PM in the lower level classroom at the shelter.

In this seminar, you will receive a step-by-step guide detailing how to build your own cat scratching post.  You will also be able to view a demonstration from Jacqueline Kimble, a fantastic Cat Care Society Volunteer.  Uncarpeted posts will be available for a $5+ donation to Cat Care.

Free Seminar: Threats Inside the House & Dangers Just Outside Your Door

February Seminar: How to Speak Cat

We invite you to join us on Valentine's Day, February 14, from 10:30am to 12pm for February's seminar: How to Speak Cat.  The seminar is intended for lifelong cat lovers and first-time cat owners.  

You'll learn:

  • How to recognize common cat communication and behavior.
  • How to read cat mood clues.
  • The possible meanings of vocalizations.
  • How to decipher feline body language.

* How to enrich the sights, sounds, and smells in your cat's environment.

* How to interact more effectively with your cat by learning to think like a cat.

The Nov. 22nd (2 to 3:30 p.m.) "Seminar for Cat People" will be led by Kerry Muhovich, DVM, coveringmodern feline diet optionsand separating fact from fiction in maintaining your cat’s health through diet choices. Dr. Kerry will also address "feeding different diets" and share ideas on how to keep cats from eating each-others’ food.
