Cats & Co: 'ADOPT-A-CAT: KRISTA' at Cat Care Society

Tuesday, June 17, 2014
Quoting from the posting: "As many of you may already know, June is Adopt-A-Cat-Month. This means that the entire month is about adopting cats. This gave me a chance to contact shelters in Canada, the UK, the US, Holland and even Belgium. I wanted to put cats in the spotlights. Cats that have been in the shelter for too long, or were just in desperate need of a new, loving home.

Meet Krista, a cat from Cat Care Society. She came to Cat Care Society in October 2001 when she was only 3,5 weeks old. She was adopted in December 2001. But she changed owners somewhere in 2006. Krista had no issues until the boyfriend of the owner started brining his dog over. She started doing her business outside the litter-box when the dog was there. She was terrified of that dog and was brought back to the Cat Care Society in 2006, she has been there for 7 years already(!)."

June 2014: Adoption Tales from Cat Care Society's Forever Homes

Tuesday, June 17, 2014
Venus and Puma (pictured) - were two special kitties that were adopted together. Venus goes by “Asha” and Puma is “Pete”. Asha loves the laser pointer and fleece teaser. Pete enjoys the feather scratcher and banana cat nip toy. Pete sometimes likes to chase with Asha. They are roomies with another 12 year old SF cat who they are adjusting to slowly and Pete and Asha are doing great.

Roxi - plays with her older cat brother and tolerates her younger cat sister in the home. Her owner thinks she is “the greatest cat in the world” and Roxi adopted the couple by jumping in the husband’s lap at the shelter. She is very social and visits with company coming to the house.

Swami - “Zissou” is slowly being introduced to the older 10 year old SF cat in the house. Zissou was named after a character in a French movie. His favorite activity is being petted.

Izzy - purrs whenever someone touches her and is very loving. She was given a high perch to lay in and be more content.

Adoption Assistant Karlyn Mendez shares this May recap from our new forever homes:

Bob - interacts well with his new family and the 13-year-old female cat and 10-year-old dog whom he likes to follow around. Bob loves his Neko fly toy from CCS.

Mr. Bigglesworth - is the only cat in his house and loves to sleep in his black sleeve bed that came from the shelter and enjoys the toys from the donated Chuck & Don’s gift basket from 9News Petline9.

Dwight - snuggles on his owner’s bed and is slowly becoming adjusted to his new home and coming out of his shyness. He indulges in cat nip and the owner is going out to buy more cat nip toys for him.

Salome - “Elondil” is very happy in her home. She loves to be held like a baby and hanging out in the bathroom sink and gazes lovingly at herself in mirrors.
