Cat Care Society's on-site veterinary clinic is dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation by committing a larger share of the funds we now spend on homeless cats to programs that prevent them from becoming homeless in the first place. We will provide spays, neuters, and veterinary care for our most needy clients.

Prospective clients must provide the following information:

We celebrated our 20th year of helping cats by moving into a new shelter for cats in October 2001. The lower level of the building was reserved to build an on-site veterinary clinic for the cats in our cageless shelter AND to serve low-income families through spay/neuter surgeries and veterinary care.

The dream of this on-site clinic became reality in August of 2005. We began performing spays, neuters, dental care, and other surgeries for cats entering the shelter. A full-time clinic manager has developed spay/neuter programs and veterinary services for qualifying low-income families starting in 2006.

We are also providing spay and neuter surgeries for cats of families in our low-income neighborhood at a price they can afford. A perfect example of a person with a big heart for cats – but not the resources to help them – is Monica, a single mom who had taken in four stray cats, but could not afford spaying and neutering. She came to the shelter for help and, because of our recently completed veterinary clinic, we were able to neuter all four of the strays she took into her home.

You can partner with us in this dynamic effort to help thousands more cats than just the lucky 800 to 900 each year that enter our shelter. Every dollar you donate to our “Good Samaritan Fund” will provide spays, neuters, and veterinary care for our most needy clients. Statistics from spay/neuter clinics we have done previously tell us that most people needing assistance with spay/neuter surgeries have taken in their cat or kitten as a stray. They SAVED the life of the cat they took in, and provided a loving home for it, but needed help with spaying or neutering.

You can make a difference by investing in our program of prevention. Providing more cat spays and neuters, at an affordable price to low-income cat owners, will dramatically reduce the overpopulation of cats – resulting in fewer homeless cats!
