Adopt a Special Pet
Senior cats. Special needs kitties. Many factors can make a cat seem "less adoptable." But when you really get to know these cats, you'll find out how special they really are and just how much love they have to give when you show them how much you care.
Celebrate these special kitties with Cat Care Society by visiting the shelter and getting to know them. You may just find your new best friend! See Petfinder's web page for more about Adopt-a-Less-Adoptable-Pet Day which we celebrated on August 12th.
Here are some pluses we found to adopting "less adoptable" animals:
- Older cats are mellower — you don't have to worry about your lamp getting knocked over!
- Physically challenged cats are often unaffected by their handicap — but you still look like a hero!
- Cats with behavioral issues allow you to form a tight bond as you overcome obstacles together!
Featured on this page are some of our "harder-to-adopt" kitties. Come visit them and see why they are so special!
Some kitties may be missing some parts.
But they have extra love to share.
Some kitties would rather not share you with anyone else.
They want to be your only cat and have you all to themselves.
Some kitties are really shy.
They share their love and affection in a quieter way than most.
Some kitties just get overlooked.
They don't appreciate the hustle-bustle of the shelter,
but they sure would like the peace and quiet of a loving home.
Our senior kitties may not be as active as they once were
but they have just as much love to share as the youngest kitten.
