Meow Mart
Located in the shelter, Meow Mart sells cat care items and whimsical whatnots for cat lovers! Among its inventory are toys and supplies for cats, and many gift items for feline fanciers. During the holiday season (on the first Friday and Saturday of December), Cat Care Society holds an open house to serve your shopping needs. Proceeds from retail sales help support our shelter residents and outreach programs. Meow Mart is open during shelter hours.

Cajun's Closet
In the fall of 1994 Cat Care Society purchased a parcel of land on which we were to build a new cage-less cat shelter.  The fact that a house already existed on the property was a bonus.  The house was renovated, the land cleared and cleaned up, a parking lot put in and Cajun’s Closet was born.  Named after Cat Care Society’s first mascot, Cajun, the small thrift store was opened in February 1995.

Cajun, a large, long-haired Orange Tabby male, was the cat in residence at the thrift store until his health started to fail and it was time for him to retire.  Now our “shop cats” are adoptable cats from the shelter who do not like other cats.

After 10 years in business in the house, Cajun’s Closet doubled its space in 2005 by moving into the lower level of the building just east of the “white house.”  That means twice as many treasures for you to shop for and, hopefully, twice as much money raised to help the cats!  We have 900 square feet for displaying clothes and an expanded book section.  Books are competitively priced – so sit and relax in our comfortable chairs and friendly atmosphere while you choose your favorite novel, cookbook, cat story, or non-fiction.

PRIVACY POLICY
Cat Care Society is a private, nonprofit cat shelter.  We spend over $350 per cat during its stay with us.  We respect the privacy of our donors and we do not sell or exchange our mailing list with anyone.
