How y’all doin Society members? People from West Virginia talk funny. That is one of the things I learned during our Memorial Day vacation to Charleston, West Virginia. And since it took me such a long time to write the blog about my trip to West Virginia, I’ll follow up with a bonus blog about a recent trip to Cat Care Society! Check it out!

Happy Holidays Society Members. How do you like my Winter coat? I think I look handsome. Sir Purrs-alot (CIA) is currently attending a P.E.A. (Plastic Eaters Anonymous) meeting so I went on a short 2 hour vacation to ZooLights with my foster family. Check out some pictures of the trip.

Greetings Society members! I write to you from my new foster home. My foster mom is Jenny and she went to the CCS auction with the sole purpose of becoming my new foster family. Her new motto is “adopt-donate-volunteer”. I already have a favorite place to hang out with my brother – the master bedroom. Here is my brother’s bio:
Codename: Sir Purrs-alot
Age: 7ish
Occupation: CIA (Cat Intelligence Agent)
Jenny said that we had to go to the vet before doing any real traveling. Here are some photos from our adventure to the vet’s office. Sir Purrs-alot was due for a rabies vaccination. He was so brave – it must come from his CIA training. A week later, I attended Jenny’s birthday party and met my foster grandparents.
It’s time for my nap with Sir Purrs-alot. Until next time, adopt-donate-volunteer. |

Today we visited the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas. I really love visiting new places! They say that the people who died defending
the Alamo were heroes, and I know that's true, but to me, the people who help at or donate to the Cat Care Society are real heroes too!

Paula and Sue spent most of the week cleaning out heaps of stuff at Sue's house. Paula says that
clutter control is one of her favorite things to do. I just find it confusing. Everybody looks at
stuff and then puts it into plastic bags. They stir up lots of dust!
Donna, Paula and I went to the Cajun music show in Eunice, Lousiana. They sang a lot of songs in
French and they played the fiddle and the accordion. I'd never heard Zydeco before, but it's great. Maybe I'll be a
Zydeco singer when I grow up.

When we got to Baton Rouge I got to see Donna's Mom again. She was at my adoption party in September.
I also met Donna's sister, Sue. Sue was one of the participants in a B'nai Mitzvah.
I really didn't understand what was going on, but they told me that when you study really well and
learn how to read the Torah in Hebrew, that they throw you a party and you read to the whole
congregation during Friday services. Sue was one of 13 students who read at the service.
Everybody was really happy and they had good snacks. I really enjoyed chatting with the
young woman who sat behind us. She volunteers at an animal shelter in Baton Rouge.

Donna wanted to visit the Crosby Arboretum, in Picayune, Mississippi. I was looking forward to seeing
new butterflies, but it was closed. So we walked around the city instead.
It is a pretty little town that the railroad passes through. I got to see a Magnolia blossom up close.
They are huge and beautiful, like me (well, I guess i'm not huge, but I am pretty cute!).

Donna and Paula took me on a road trip to Baton Rouge, Lousiana.
It was really cool because I got to go and the other cats in the household had to stay home.
Donna says that they would rather walk than ride in a car.
In Oklahoma we stopped to visit
the Gene Autry Museum in Gene Autry, Oklahoma. Donna said that it brought back memories of
her childhood watching Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, Gene Autry and other singing cowboys.
The museum said that Gene Autry was once the most popular movie star in the world!
Donna's cousin, Buck Reams is a singing cowboy. I think that I want to be a singing
cowboy when I grow up. |

Paula and Donna are my foster parents for this year. For Christmas and New Year's
Donna took me to Phoenix to meet Paula's family. Paula left in early December to
drive her father and step-mother from Missouri to Phoenix, Arizona, where they spend winters.
Helen and Herman live with 3 cats, Nikki, Toedy, and Tommie. They are all feral
cats that Helen has rescued. The house is divided because Tommie beats up on
Nikki and Toedy. So, during the night Tommie spends his time out in the main
living area and the girls spend their time in the main bedroom, during the
afternoon they swap locations. Tommie was very nice to me.
On Christmas Day the humans and I went to Paula's step-sister's house.
Janet and her partner have 2 dogs and a cat. Dogs are bouncy
and they have sharp teeth! Skinny, the cat, didn't take any mischief from those dogs.
Also visiting for dinner were Harold and Carol. Carol is another step-sister, she and Harold
live in Missouri too.
I enjoyed meeting all those new people, but I'm glad to be back home with my foster family.

Hi again. I know it's been so long since my last post but such a lot has happened. Back in September, Cat Care Society
had their annual dinner and auction and I attended. I said goodbye to Bethany, Jasper and Chloe, my great foster
family for the past year. I'll miss them but I was also excited to find out who my next foster family would be.
What a fabulous evening! So many people, gorgeous masks, incredible costumes, and wonderful auction items,
including ME. The high point of this year's auction was when they brought me up to the stage to find out who would be my new foster family.
Donna was the winning bidder! It was so great to meet her. She was dressed in an outlandish coat with an ominous mask that she claims represents
an American Kestrel. She says that she picked that bird because she likes raptors, but didn't want to pick one that would
intimidate kitties (kestrels are even smaller than me). How nice! Joan, Donna's mom, was dressed with a cat mask and a top hat. Swanky!
Paula, Donna's partner was a pirate with a cat on her shoulder rather than a parrot. How sensible.
Most people don't wear costumes much so they might feel uncomfortable, maybe even a bit foolish.
I, of course, being a celebrity, do it all of the time. But, if you are shy about wearing a costume or acting a part, my new
foster mom, Donna, says to think of it as an exercise for your brain, a way of forestalling Alzheimer's (I don't know
what that is, but it doesn't sound good). My friends at Cat Care Society hope that when you exercise your imagination,
you'll find a way to use all the extraordinary auction items that have been donated, and bid higher and higher so that we can
raise lots of money for the shelter!
I thought that all three women would be fostering me, but it turns out that Joan was a refugee from Hurricane
Gustav that ravaged Baton Rouge, Louisiana and she would be going back in a few weeks.
Donna and Paula live with 3 blind cats. More about them in my next post. I can't wait to find out all the neat places I will be going this year!

I finally got to go to my first Rockies game! We went to the game on June16th against the Atlanta Braves.
Unfortunately, the Rockies lost the game, but we had a lot of fun! I ate a hot dog and some nachos,
and washed it all down with a nice cold beer... root beer, of course! I went with my foster mom,
Bethany and our friend Tony.

Oh! Don't be mad at me. I know I haven't written for so long, but here I am once again. I've been having such a great time that I have been a bit negligent about posting my adventures. I promise I'll try to be better from now on.
I had two great trips since my last post. In February 2008, I went to Costa Rica again! Take a look at pictures from my trip. Then in early April, I went to Maine to visit my foster mom's family (my family now).
Here are some pictures from Maine.
And guess what! My first birthday was on April 10th and we celebrated with a big party! Take a look at the party pictures and it'll be just like you were there. |

This month I went to two holiday get-togethers that were a lot of fun. First, I went to the Cat Care Society staff holiday party. I'm not a real staff member but my foster mom, Bethany, is on the board so I got a special invitation! Then, we went to the Santa Paws Festival at the shelter. That was a lot of fun too. Check out the pictures from both events.

It wasn't too long before I was off on my first adventure. Bethany and three of her friends (Tony, Mark and Sera) took me to Las Vegas. It was my first time in “Sin City,” and I had a blast. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, but I can share a couple of pictures and stories!

I'm writing to you from my new foster home for this year. Bethany took me home and introduced me to her two other kitties. Chloe is a beautiful 7½ year old girl. She likes to sit on the chair with me and we cuddle a lot. Her brother, Jasper, looked familiar to me. Once we got to talking, I realized that he was at the Cat Care Society this summer, too. His name was Noodles then, which is why I wasn't sure who he was. It's great to see him again. He just turned 1 year old, and he's a good lookin' dude like me! We like to hang out on our mom's bed during the day while she is at work. He's a great companion.

I had a fantastic time meeting everyone at the auction – it was such a great turnout! Cat Care Society sure knows how to have fun and raise money for a worthwile cause. I kicked off the live auction with a bang – there was a furious bidding war for me, and my new foster mom Bethany was the one who finally got me.
