Visiting the family in Maine |
|
In early April we headed to Maine, where my foster mom grew up. We went for a long weekend to celebrate her grandparents’ 70th wedding anniversary. Yes, that’s right! Helen and Al Hersey were married back in 1938. Can you believe it? There was a big surprise party for them, and I got to go. I met a lot of great people on this trip. Here I am with my new favorite friend, Sara, and her dad Chris. Sara and I really hit it off. She had another friend with her -- even though he is a dog we still had a great time. |

While we were in Maine we headed for the beach. Of course, it was way too cold to stay outside very long, but I did get a chance to see and enjoy the world-famous rocky coastline of Maine. We went to Kennebunkport. We drove by Walker’s Point, which is the summer vacation home of George H.W. and Barbara Bush. I’m an Independent voter, so I’m not siding with anyone. The estate is gorgeous, though, so I just had to stop for a quick photo opportunity. |

We drove down the coast line a bit further to see more of the sights. This is me at the beach in Kennebunk. |
