Volunteers are an essential part of our organization. Volunteers
assist with nursing home visitation, building and yard maintenance, fund raising
projects, secretarial and clerical work, advertising and marketing, shelter
cleaning, staffing our thrift store (Cajun's Closet), grooming, and socializing
cats, and special projects. If you are interested in volunteering your time to
help cats and people, please fill out a volunteer application form (pdf format - requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).
There are many volunteer opportunities available!

- Shelter Assistant
- Cage cleaning, litterbox maintenance, feeding, general shelter cleaning, laundry, grooming, etc.
- Administrative Assistant
- Clerical work, record keeping, phone assistance, photocopying, mailing, special projects, computer work.
- Animal Assisted Visitors
- Participation in visits to selected area nursing homes one day per month. (Car necessary)
- Booth/Sales Assistant
- Working shifts at fundraising events selling cat-oriented merchandise. (Peoples Fair, cat shows, etc)
- Cajun’s Closet Assistant
- Sales, pricing, assisting with merchandise, etc, at Cat Care Society’s thrift shop. Half day shifts available
- Foster Parents
- Caring for cats and/or kittens, in your home on a temporary, shot term basis.
- Maintenance Assistance
- Grounds maintenance, snow removal, painting, plumbing, general small repair on an "as needed" basis
- Creative Assistant
- Create hand made craft items, jewelry, pottery, catnip toys of fine art times for donation to Meow Mart or special fundraising events
- Fundraising Assistants
- Serve on committees to help conceive, plan, organize, and achieve successful fundraisers.

To become a Cat Care Society volunteer you must:
- Be a minimum 18 years of age
- Submit a completed Volunteer application
- Interview with the Volunteer Coordinator
- Attend a New Volunteer Orientation
- Make a commitment to volunteer up to 25 hours over a six month period.
- Participate in any training necessary
