We have an #adoptionupdate from Cas who adopted Casper (now Toast)! They were looking for a social cat who could be a buddy to their cat, Thelma. Thelma was beginning to show signs of loneliness so they wanted to adopt a second kitty to give her some companionship.
“Toast was definitely shy when we brought him home. He was very shy and did not like to be touched, but after a week of gentle introductions to us and Thelma, he started to come out of his shell! He has adjusted well to our home and is still gaining courage and overcoming his shyness.
“He has been doing really well! He loves to snuggle all day and night, and play with our other cat. He only had a few teeth and limited vision, but neither of his conditions hold him back from being a goofy, lovable cat! He is VERY chatty and expresses himself through lots of meowing, chirping, and making small noises- he always has something to say! He enjoys playing with small shiny toys, and trying to steal food right off of our plates.
“We would like to thank CCS for taking the time to meet his medical needs before we brought him home. He was definitely in pain for a while there due to having multiple teeth pulled, but he is enjoying life now! We would like others who are interested in adopting cats with disabilities like Toast’s to not be afraid—many cats (like Toast!) live really normal lives!”
Have you adopted from CCS in the past? We’d love to hear how it’s going! Send us your adoption success stories (and photos!) to be featured in our #adoptionupdate series on social media or on our website.
