We have an #adoptionupdate from Kristin who adopted Babette (now Momo) this past February! She saw Momo online, had a good feeling, and arrived early to CCS to find her playing in a tub. Her personality seemed different from other cats, so they decided to get her. Her son chose Momo and she embodies everything they were hoping for and is a kindred spirit with their last cat. They look nothing alike but their Siamese breed has proved similar characteristics. They were very used to having a vocal cat at home, and Momo will even give out a cute meow every time they leave a room to let you know she is displeased!
Kristin’s son says, “She has been adjusting to our house very quickly while getting more playful and snugly every day.”
Kristin says, “Momo is quirky – she loves to have her paws pet, sit cross-legged, and her favorite toys are a red string and a stuffed mango. And she hasn’t lost her voice! – she is ‘meowy’ and very intelligent.
“My son renamed Babette to “Momo” immediately – as she looks like Momo, the flying lemur, from the cartoon series Avatar. Striped tail and all. She is absolutely a little lemur and leaps to grab your arm with her front paws for head scratches. The name means “peach,” matching her forehead fur patch. In Avatar, Momo represents a loyal companion, a long life, and the spirit of the loss of a group of people. We found Momo after a significant loss of our 17yo cat, who was similar to Momo in some ways given they are both part Siamese. Any worries of how getting a new cat would feel melted away the minute we met her. We love her so much, and we are so thankful to the CCS.”
