We have an #adoptionupdate from Kelsy who adopted Blossom (now Dust Storm) in November 2025. They had just come from Cat Fest, which spiked their cat fever. They had been considering getting a cat for some time, and a coworker of Kelsy’s fiancée had suggested CCS, so they decided to stop by and take a look. While visiting with all the cats, one with a small, nubby tail caught their attention. Dust Storm laid down right in Kelsy’s lap and fell asleep. When it came time to speak with an employee, she was gently lifted away and curled up in Kelsy’s fiancée’s lap and fell right back asleep. They had definitely been chosen!
“She has adjusted wonderfully! She still gets a little skittish from time to time but she always comes around for pets and treats! She knows where her treat cabinet is, and she is obsessed with churus. She loves to cuddle and refuses to move if you need her too. She sleeps with us every night. She likes to open cabinets especially at night which scares us with how loud it gets shut, so we had to basically baby proof the doors.
“She also has a very high pitched meow, which is amazing!! She meows a lot when we go to bed without telling her and she loses us. Her favorite toys are scratching posts and anything with a string, but her favorite thing ever is watching TV, or our phones. She will go out of her way to try and watch whatever is on our phones like a little iPad kitty. Her favorites are cat or dog videos, or squirrels, but she’ll watch anything really. When the squirrels are on the screen she likes to paw at them and make a little chirping noise.”
