Happily Homed: Lady Dixon

collage of black and white cat

Beth Dokolasa

We have an #adoptionupdate from Mary who adopted Lady Dixon in December 2024! Mary wasn’t looking for a specific type of cat, just one that had been in the shelter for a longer period of time.

“She is adjusting well. I had been warned she is very food motivated and she did not disappoint. She is quick to come downstairs or wake up when she smells food. She is also quick to wake me up first thing in the morning to get her breakfast. This usually consists of pawing my face and gradually extending her paws if I’m not moving fast enough.

“She seemed low energy for a bit and her new vet confirmed she needed to be back on insulin. She is back to the friendly and social cat I first adopted.

“Dixon has slowly been getting comfortable with her new home. Once she started her insulin again she seemed a little more adventurous. I’m thankful to Cat Care Society for helping me meet Dixon.☺”

Have you adopted from CCS in the past? We’d love to hear how it’s going! Send us your adoption success stories (and photos!) to be featured in our #adoptionupdate series on social media or on our website.

We’re taking a little “paws” to deep clean the shelter for the safety of our kitties. We apologize for any inconvenience. The shelter will reopen with normal hours on Thursday.
