Happily Homed: Potato

collage of tabby cat

Beth Dokolasa

We have an #adoptionupdate from Corina who adopted Potato in March 2025!

“We were not looking for a cat when we came to the shelter, we actually came to help my partner’s parents find a cat. But as cheesy as it sounds, Potato chose us.

“Potato is settling in very well. She spends her day sleeping on her heated blanket or napping between pillows on the bed. She has three siblings that she has quickly shown that she now runs this house by telling them with her raspy meow. Still at almost 17, she occasionally gets the Zoomies and it’s kind of scary how fast her little 7lb body can go. She spends the evenings sleeping on our chests.

“Everything is great! It’s been a little bit of a struggle to find a kidney food that she likes, as she loves her siblings’ food. But I think we finally found one. She uses the litter great and drinks lots of water. She also enjoys the occasional Wendy’s chicken nugget.”

Have you adopted from CCS in the past? We’d love to hear how it’s going! Send us your adoption success stories (and photos!) to be featured in our #adoptionupdate series on social media or on our website.

We’re taking a little “paws” to deep clean the shelter for the safety of our kitties. We apologize for any inconvenience. The shelter will reopen with normal hours on Thursday.
