If you’ve never attended our Tails of the Painted Cats gala and auction before, here are five reasons to make 2025 your year!

1. Art! The main event is the art – cat sculptures hand-painted and adorned by local artists. We are always amazed at the creativity of our artists and we think you will be too. You can bid on these at our auction, in addition to “flat cats” canvas paintings, pottery, and more!

2. Learn about who we are! The gala is a great opportunity to learn about Cat Care Society and our mission. We are passionate about offering the best chance to every cat that comes through our doors, regardless of their medical or behavioral needs. We also offer community outreach programs and education. At Tails of the Painted Cats you can meet some of our staff and learn more about us.
3. Our Emcee: Steve Staeger! 9 News anchor Steve Staeger generously volunteers to emcee this event for us. He’s a fellow cat lover and all-around wonderful human, and he creates a fun and engaging atmosphere for everyone at the event.
4. Help cats! The funds raised at Tails of the Painted Cats go directly back to Cat Care Society and help us to care for cats in need as well as our community. As a nonprofit, donations are our primary source of funding. By attending our event (and maybe buying some art!), you help us while having a great night out – which brings us to our last point…
5. It’s fun! You’ll enjoy dinner and cocktails at Pinehurst Country Club as you bid on your favorite painted cat and visit with friends – maybe you’ll even make some new ones. We’re planning lots of fun surprises for this year’s event that we think will make it our best gala yet!
