We have an #adoptionupdate from Alex who adopted Yumi in February 2025!
“We (my fiancé, Ben & I) were looking for a longer term CCS resident with more special needs than the average cat, but who enjoyed the company of others since we already have two extroverted pets. That being said, we never quite expected to adopt a cat struggling with incontinence, but once we met Yumi there was no going back. She immediately felt like ours!
“Yumi is self-assured, smart, and affectionate. She seems very happy and comfortable in our home (even though she sometimes gets annoyed with her new brother, Fudge, and lets him know immediately)…and we couldn’t be happier to have her with us!
“There was certainly a learning curve involved with Yumi’s care – but CCS did a great job of setting us up for success! We now feel like pros only one month later and Yumi’s morning / night routine (expressing her bladder, giving her dinner, administering medication, and cleaning her up if needed) takes 5-10 mins tops!
“This girl is a LOUNGER – she sleeps most of the day on a big cozy bed, but also enjoys playing with her brothers (1 dog, 1 cat), going to town on a scratch pad, gazing outside, and snuggling up next to us. She’s also a huge fan of meal and treat time – just like her brothers.
“I would have never felt comfortable adopting a cat with Yumi’s level of care without the help and guidance of CCS. But seriously, it’s been so much easier than I ever expected and getting to take care of Miss Yumi is something we’ll always be grateful for. Thank you for all the amazing work you do getting cats into loving homes.”
